Final Images

The symmetry of the entire bridge aims to establish order in the natural environment where it is located. The bridge “anchors” itself into mountains to connect to the natural world. This alludes to the theory in that “nature could be conquered through technological innovation” as well as the concept that an artificial environment can be created through technology.

The applied materials and textures aim to enhance the building’s experience of connection to nature. The stone material emulates the rocky mountains which it is situated on. Furthermore, the being able to look outside the glass allows the occupants to gain an affinity to the natural world. The linear texture evokes the atmosphere of linearity throughout the building thus creating a sense of order.

Elevator docks:
Both elevators are designed to enhance the experience of the surrounding natural world. This is seen in the Dean’s elevator as there is a floral-inspired ornament on and is made of glass, allowing the user to view the valley as they descend. The student’s elevator is designed to emulate plants.

The openness and the views of each room allows one to be a “part of evolution, taking back our closeness to nature.

The folly is situated in the midst of the vast greenery in the valley, allowing the users to appreciate and maintain a sense of closeness to nature.
